Championnat d'Alsace 13. / 14. July 2002

International B-Show

The Championnat d'Alsace is a fix date in the show agenda of a group of Swiss breeders and friends, and not only because it's close to Switzerland: most of all it's the friendly and familar atmosphere that makes people come back every year! For me it was the third show in this beautiful park with its big old trees and I like it even better every year! Although the weather was rather wet, this did nothing to lessen our good humour during those two days!

Until now, this show was classified as ECAHO International C, but as from this year on there are no more Int. C shows, it was logically classified B. This meant not only more international competitiors ( from 9 different countries) but also a very high level of quality! In several classes I had difficulties to choose only one winner among all those beauties! It was not an easy task for the judges as well. My personal favourites were the mares : KARA Danisha, L.A. Tjara, Enya, L.A Medusa, Grenada, Bint Deladiva, Djubnavala, Nataja and the stallions: Karat, Abris and Nadjhan Ibn Piwonia (for pedigrees see show results )

Between the show classes different presentations made a welcome change in the program. Some of them were absolutely fantastic, like the side-saddle and the double longe, or the presentation of World Champion stallion Maklouf (Kilimanjaro x Mabrouka II), father of several champions, like Targuia el Maklouf (also a World Champion) for example.

And for those of you who think Arab shows boring; be told that you are wrong!!! There is plenty of action going on besides the show; like Katrin catching the wild stallion, macho men flirting with Swiss women and and and... Others like to judge the male handlers for example...
