BALATON

There are horses, just to look at them gives me goose bumps - Balaton is one of them! Long before I had the luck to see himself, I had read and heard a lot of him and his fantastic "everywhere winning" children. In the summer of 1995 at the Tersk Holland Sale was one of the greatest moments in my life; I had the pleasure to admire Balaton! A mighty appearance!!! One of the most beautiful stallions I have ever seen; a beautiful face with big eyes, a compact and harmonious body and very elastic and floating movement! But the most important is his indescribable charisma with which he immediately catched my heart - and not mine only. Oh yes, he knows very well how to impress his spectators and take their breath away!

But my most precious memory is when I stod at his stable door, caressing his nose. That was the moment my boyfriend decided that I am definitely crazy...

The second and last time I saw Balaton was the following year, at the Tersk Sale again. Subsequently he went back to Tersk Stud to "produce" future generations who will carry on his precious blood!

I hope I can see him again someday!

Balatons breeding career

He was the first stallion at Tersk Stud who ever bred mares at the age of three. After seeing his first children, Mr. Ponomarev called him THE HORSE OF THE CENTURY!!!!

I always thought that was a little exaggerated, but after I have seen Balaton and many of his children I can only affirm!

To name all his succesful children would be to long and many of them are already creating a sensation with their own children, like Kubinec (out , Tibet (out of Taiga) excellent racehorse, Abazinka (out of Anatomy) of Kosmetika) Multiple Show Champion and an excellent sire Champion mare, Abhaziia (out of Angelika) superb broodmare, Kabardinka (out of Kosmetika) Champion mare, Mamba (out of Malutka) broodmare at Tersk Stud and one of the best Balaton daughters, Sambist (out of Stihia) excellent racehorse, Abakan (out of Amunitia) Champion stallion, Absent (out of Astronomia) Champion stallion, Kobra (out of Kosmetika) Champion mare, Pjatakova (out of Popova) Champion mare, Balenina (out of Neva) Champion mare, Narym (out of Nemara) Champion stallion and promissing young sire, L.A.Contessa (out of WN Canella) Champion mare, and many many more!
