cell phones

Cell phones ain't that great. 

Here is what would happen *IF* I carried a cell phone when I ride alone: "AAAACCCK, AAACCCCCKKKK - it's terrible... gotta git my cell phone out" 911- "Emergency Police HeadQuarters- speak!!" 

me - "I'm bob griffith. My arabian gelding Panache - own great grandson of Ramses Fayek, out'a top ten brood mare, Senacht, 4 separate lines to Raseyn... OH, Oh sorry. yes I've been impaled on a sapling when my horse leapt 15 feet sideways to triangulate on a stump.... Yes, YES I'm suspended 2 feet off the ground transfixed by a sapling!! Of course I'm serious!! Well, take the entrance at Babbling Brook and go down the Long Trail about 1.5 miles, take a left on Sonsey's hill and I'm hanging about 2/3rds up at the Flareout, left side." I dunno what county- call my friends Judy Brodbeck or the Pomeroys they can tell you where the Mountain is." 

Judy-"MY GOSH that's terrible!!" Yeah, Babbling Brook to Long Trail... Oh, it's over on the Mountain... Oh, the same one they hold the Spring Fling 25CTR.. well then, maybe it's a monadonock or a butte or an escarpment. no,no a mesa.. sure I know their phone number..." 

Mrs P-"MY GOSH that's terrible!! Yeah, I know where that is. Due West of here, on the other side of the Mountain. Huh? Well, the mountain right outside my front door... I'm TRYING to be helpful.. I *kin* tell you you better not go North or South 'cause it's due WEST!!! Take the Long Trail at Babbling Brook and ..." click 

me -"Oh yeah, I'm still here but things are getting dark. I'd like to change my order from one ambulance to one hearse and hurry up 'cause the buzzards up here at Sugarloaf will start eating you if you set still for more'n 5 minutes... AAAACCCKKK it's starting to hurt!!" 

911-"SQUAD UNIT X5Z we got a fix!! - Sugarloaf Mtn. Mt Ephriam Road, interstices of Sporting Trail AABB25 & Sporting Trail ZZXX47... step on it!!! some idiot's been riding a horse through there... take some dirt bikes and look up in the trees !!!"
