Our first visit at
Lasahr Arabians |
| |
On
a sunday afternoon in march 1997, Christa and me, we took our cameras and our notes on the
Russian sire-lines, and went off to Lasahr Arabians of Vreni Egli and Sepp Zurkirchen in
Reidermoos/Switzerland. They held a "familiar" public presentation of their new
stallion and their mares. The foundation mares at Lasahr Arabians are of Spanish
bloodlines, but soon after the first Russian mares joined the small but high quality
broodmare group. |

|

|
| The first attraction of the
day was the three year old stallion Kapitol
(Kubinec x Nostalgia), on lease for two years from Osterhof stud in Germany, a true
enrichment for the Swiss breed! |
Second was the "new"
broodmare Khouri BB (Khouros x Moncya),
born in 1986 and in foal to Kubinec (Balaton x Kosmetika). I won't begin to describe how
beautiful every horse was, because we really liked them all! |

|
 |
| Khouri was
followed by the foundation mare WN Canella
(GG Samir x AN Mablanca), born in 1982, and her one year old daughter L.A.Contessa (by Balaton). Contessa wasn't
happy being separated from her friend Astronika, and put on her now famous "donkey
face". |

|
 |
| Next was another
Spanish diva; the successful western pleasure horse Namirr (Uzacur x Esmirna), born in 1980
and then came the two year old "dancer" Astronika (Nikel x Asronomia). |

|
Last but not least, the black mare Vereja
(Karnaval x Vengria), born in 1994 and owned by Eva Mössl. |
It was a very interesting afternoon for us, and the beginning of a close
friendship with Vreni and Sepp.
