The Tersk Holland Sale VIII was held on August 21./22.at the Kossack Stud in Holland. 31 horses were offered for sale. Mukomol 1979 (Kumir x Malinka by Aswan) tragically died on the transport from Russia to Holland. After this accident the Russians must have feared to transport Pogremok 1979 (Moment x Pantera by Aswan) as he wasn't at the sale.

A lot of those 31 horses were race horses (Pedigree) and some of them already with very good results at the track. However the buyers of racehorses were missing this year and we wondered why, because last year (so I was told) the highest prices were paid for racehorses! 11 horses did not sold and 7 of them were of racing blood. The only racehorses sold for high prices were also beautiful and typey (Novacia and Vajenka for example).

On the other hand there were plenty of strong buyers (especially from Germany and France) who looked for breeding stock. This was easy to see, because the beautiful, quality horses for show/breeding were sold for good prices! One look at the magnificent mares Vajenka, Poblasjka and Martinika made you wonder what treasures where living out in the fields back home at Tersk.

The high-seller of the sale was Poblasjka 1996 (Balaton x Pogoja by Gips), a very nice grey filly, not big but with good movement and a beautiful head. She was sold for US$ 42'000.

The lovely bay 1995 filly Vajenka (Nard x Vizantia by Menes) was the crowd favourite and one of the best horses in the sale. She has fantastic movement and charisma along with a stunning head reminiscent of a sculpture and sold for US$ 34'000. Tuberoza 1996, a beautiful black Balaton daughter (out of Tanga by Pakistan) sold for US$ 30'000. Next was Novacia 1995 (Vatican x Navigacia by Gwizd) a very nice bay mare with great movement, sold for US$ 21'000. Sadly Vatican 1983 (Kumir x Nevesta by Aswan) died in Israel a few weeks prior to the sale.  Diogonal 1995 grey (Gusar x Desna by Kumir) was sold for US$ 19'000 and Naja 1995 (Aromat x Naguta by Gwizd) a nice grey filly also sold for US$ 19'000. Aromat 1981 (Mascat x Madia by Arax) died at Tersk in february.
